Eyebrow tattoo removal is based on the principle of Selective Photothermolysis.


What is Selective Photothermolysis?

The laser's light energy is selectively absorbed only by specific tattoo pigment particles,

This energy converts into heat, causing pigment particles to expand at high temperatures and break down into minute fragments.

This method is designed to avoid damaging surrounding normal tissues during this process.


The laser wavelength is appropriately selected depending on the type of pigment.

The 1064nm wavelength penetrates deep into the dermal layer of the skin, primarily acting on black and brown pigments,

while the 532nm wavelength reacts better with the epidermal layer and is suitable for brighter pigments such as red and orange.


However, wavelength alone is not the only important factor. The duration of the laser pulse is also a crucial element.

For eyebrow tattoo removal, very short pulses, in units of nanoseconds (ns) or less, are utilized to concentrate powerful energy on the pigment particles within a brief moment.


When energy is concentrated in a short time, heat dispersion to surrounding tissues is minimized, and only pigment particles are locally subjected to high pressure and temperature, causing them to fragment finely or vaporize.

These finely fragmented pigment particles are absorbed by macrophages and then gradually expelled from the body via the lymphatic system.


This expulsion process begins with an initial lymphatic reaction approximately 3 days to 2 weeks after treatment, where pigment particles travel to lymph nodes and are processed in organs like the liver and spleen.

  • For at least 6 hours after the procedure, avoid washing your face to prevent water from touching the treated area and to minimize irritation.
  • Preventing UV exposure to the treated area is extremely important. We recommend diligently applying sunscreen and wearing a hat or sunglasses to protect your skin from the sun.
  • Scabs formed on the treated area should not be forcibly removed; it is best to let them fall off naturally.
  • After the procedure, it is recommended to consistently apply a regenerating cream for skin recovery.
  • For about one week after the procedure, it is advisable to avoid high-temperature and humid environments like saunas and jjimjilbangs, or strenuous exercise that induces sweating.
  • Makeup using pencils or tattoo pens on the eyebrow area is recommended to be avoided for at least one week after the procedure. This is to prevent irritation to the treated area and reduce the risk of infection.
